Alana Brumbaugh was our first student to go to tournament! She was quite successful scoring Ippon in all three matches using different techniques everytime! Congratulations Alana on your first first place!

Our sensei is updating the Yawara Judo Student
Manual for the Yawara Judo Association. The work is almost
done and is awaiting approvals from the Executive Committee
of Yawara Judo Association for finalization of the student
manual. The new student manual as is includes new information
on the promotional standards making understanding what
is necessary for each grade individually much easier. It
also includes a glossary of terms including most terms
for the USJA written examinations with Kanji and Hiragana
for those who are interested in knowing what the Japanese
writing for judo terms are.

Dec 2008 On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we held our Winter Promotional.
Alana made her promotion to 3rd Kyu, Brown Belt, a first
for Roswell Judo. Rolando made his promotion to 6th Kyu
Green Belt. Tatiana made her promotion to 7th Kyu. Calyb
made his promotion to 8th Kyu. Congratulations to all our
students on attaining their grades!

Aug 2008
On Saturday, our sensei went to the Border Classic
Tournament in El Paso, TX. Placing second in the 30-39
year old Masters Division.

June 2008
During the weekend of 20-22 June 2008, our sensei went
to the Judo Forum Summit Clinic and Camp in Carlsbad California
to learn and train with some of the best people in judo
in the United States. Clinicians and Featured instructors
included: Paul Nogaki, Temecula Judo; AnnMaria R. DeMars,
1984 World Champion; Jin Iizumi, 7th dan; Ronda Rousey,
Team FORCE, Two time Olympian (update BRONZE MEDALIST for
the USA in Beijing!); Neil Ohlenkamp, author of Judo
Unleashed; and a host of others.

On Saturday, 17 May 2008, we held our Spring Promotional.
Alana made her promotion to 4th Kyu, Purple Belt. Rolando,
Felipe, Logan, and Genesis Made their promotions to 7th
Kyu, Orange Belt. Aaron and Tatiana made their promotions
to 8th Kyu, Yellow Belt. Unfortunately no pictures were
taken by Roswell Judo, however soon the video will be availible
online here!
Congratulations to the newly promoted!

On Saturday, 15 December 2007, we held our winter promotional.
We had one promotion to 5th Kyu, Alana, and five promotions
to 8th Kyu, Nizar, Felipe, Cesar, Logan, and Chrisitian.

We recently held a promotional (18 Aug 2007) the video

Currently we are at five regularly attending our under
14 class and 3 regularly attending our adult's class. We're
doing fairly well. Much thanks to the Yucca Recreation Center
for allowing us to do Judo there!
We're looking forward to keeping the summer going and increasing
our students!
